KLM’s Business Class on the Boeing 787-9
Finally I have finished my video about my flight in KLM’s Business Class on the Boeing 787-9. I flew from Amsterdam Schiphol to San Francisco. As always I will use this blog to add some thoughts, while I recommend to watch the video for a thorough review :).
So first things first. I took this flight a while ago, right when KLM was revamping their non-Schengen lounge at AMS. So the lounge you see in the video doesn’t exist in that form any longer – it became bigger, better, brighter. I will show the new lounge in another trip report.
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is a very internsting place in many aspects. While it is one of Europe’s busiest airports, it has only one Terminal – but a very large one consisting of several departure halls. That means you have to walk a lot, which is good if you have some calories to burn, but can be difficult for certain people.
The Boeing 787-9 is a marvelous plane and KLM has introduced an amazing design – modern, sleek and typically Dutch you could say: For instance there’s a little crown on the headrest. There is also a mirror looking like a window of a Dutch house. They even have wallpapers with Delft houses in the lavatory.
As you see in the video, food options and beverages are convincing. The best aspect about the KLM’s business class is the crew though. They are just excellent and do every task with the the utmost professionalism and a lot of enthusiasm.
My overall impression of this product is very positive. Within KLM it’s certainly the best business class product they have to offer. Direct access to the aisle, wonderful food, great crews and a miniature Delft house as a souvenir, what else can a passenger expect? Even on a broader picture, KLM’s business class on the Boeing 787-9 is absolutely able to compete with other airlines. My verdict: Great product.
